Interested to know how action/fighting scences are filmed? Just like in the movies, we expertly guide you through all the thrills and spills of what it takes to be an action hero!
The Movie Stunt Experience is an incredible adventure day out where you are the Star. We give Guests the opportunity to be part of action movie making stunts. What until now has been a “closed set”, the secrets and techniques shared only with the film industry’s elite professionals is now open to you. This is truly an amazing and unique day out set in 4 acres of private riverside parkland with purpose built obstacle course and abseil tower just 15 minutes from Surfers Paradise in the heart of the Gold Coast, Australia.
The Movie Stunt Experience programmes have been designed specifically to give guys and girls not just a front row seat, but the opportunity to be immersed in this fascinating profession first hand. Never before has this industry been so accessible to the general public. We keep groups small so the experience is personal and intimate. Each Guest will have the opportunity to participate as safety crew and performer in a number of activities used in Action Movie making.
After your welcome, introduction and safety brief we get stuck right in with a warm up on our purpose built obstacle course commando style! Then it’s;
- Film Fighting Choreography – this is used in almost every action movie. From a Weston bar brawl to the lightning fast martial arts of Jackie Chan. Our instructors will demonstrate how many techniques and tricks work in the movies including camera angles to make a fight look real. We then coach you in your very own fight scene frame by frame to make you look like a pro … are you the next 007, Jason Bourne or Lara Croft?
- As an added extra, you can pair up with one of our Hollywood Stunt Performers and have your fight scene professionally filmed, edited with sound effects and presented on a DVD to show all your mates.
After a short break its then on to;
- Wire Work – ever dreamt you could fly? We hook you into a full body stunt harness and suspend you where you can defy gravity, performing flying somersaults and twists in safety. Used in films such as Matrix, Wolverine and Tomb Raider. You will get to work as the performer and also the wire safety team.
- Commando Style abseiling – with our own purpose built Tower we take Abseil to another level, our professional instructors coach you in standard abseil techniques until you are comfortable and then progress to commando style window penetrations and inverted descent as seen in “Black Hawk Down” and Mission Impossible” We can also coach the fast learners in forward abseil… also known as ‘rap jumping’!
After abseiling we break for lunch with the instructors… usually a BBQ sausage sizzle or something similar. If you have specific dietary requirements we ask that you bring it with you. There is also a ‘Healthy Habits’ restaurant/takeaway on site if you prefer. Feel free to chat with the instructors about their experience in the industry. The lunch usually ends in a spontaneous whip cracking or knife throwing competition between the instructors!
High Falls - after lunch we take the FUN to a whole new level – literally - learning the adrenaline pumping “HIGH FALL” stunts. We start low onto crash mats perfecting your technique, then we work with each individual up to a height that you are comfortable with into a specifically designed airbag for a totally exhilarating session.
Fire Session/Human Torch - just as you catch your breath and your pulse starts to recover from the high falls we get in to our grand finale; the sensational fire session… this is truly one of the most exciting stunts there is… where you will have the opportunity to be part of the movie set safety team and also the performer.
We “wrap” with a group photo, a celebratory toast (sparkling wine, ice cold stubby or soft drink) and certificate presentation for an exceptional day out we guarantee you will remember and share with family & friends for the rest of your life… or your money back!

Optional Extras:
- Pro Fight Scene - Pro film fight scene. Star in your own professionally filmed, choreographed fight scene with one of our Stunt Performers, edited with sound effects on a DVD.
The Participant acknowledges and agrees that, upon booking a Movie Stunt Experience, they shall sign an Acknowledgement of Risk, wherein the Participant releases Movie Stunt Experience and the Australian Stunt Academy from any liability with respect to any injuries, loss or damages which may be sustained by the Participant in the course of undertaking the adventure, whether dangerous, hazardous or otherwise. If you are under the age of 18, you will need to have a parent or guardian sign the Acknowledgement of Risk on your behalf.
The Participant warrants that he/she does not suffer from any Medical Condition and/or incapacity which may impair the Participants ability to participate in any activities or stunts provided by Movie Stunt Experience and further, that the Participant does not suffer from any Heart Condition, Epilepsy or other Medical Condition which may result in the Participant potentially placing himself/herself in a position of risk, by undertaking adventures provided by Movie Stunt Experience.
